Hajiyo Daycare is a small, licensed family childcare home in Tacoma, Washington — open seven days a week for the families who need us.
When I started Hajiyo Daycare, I wasn't trying to build a business. I was trying to build the kind of place I'd want my own children to spend their days. Somewhere warm. Somewhere safe. Somewhere they'd be loved.
We're a small family childcare program — and that's on purpose. It means I know every child in my care by name. I know their favorite snack, what makes them laugh, and what they need on a hard morning. Nothing about that is by accident.
We're open seven days a week because the families I serve work hard, and they don't always work nine-to-five. We accept DSHS and Working Connections because every child deserves quality care, no matter the family's situation. And we welcome children from every background, every culture, every walk of life.
If you're reading this, it probably means you're looking for someone to trust with your little one. I'd love the chance to earn that trust. Come visit us. Bring your child. Ask me anything.
No fancy curriculum buzzwords. Just the things that actually matter when someone you love is in someone else's hands.
We keep our group small on purpose. That means more eyes on every child, more time to listen, and more chances to catch the little moments that matter — the first words, the new friendships, the breakthroughs you'd hate to miss.
This is a licensed family childcare home. That means your child gets the warmth of a real house — a kitchen with home-cooked meals, a backyard to run in, cozy spots to nap — with the structure and safety of a state-inspected program.
Every culture, every language, every story. We serve families from all walks of life and we partner with you, not around you. You know your child best — we just make sure they're loved while you're at work.
I started Hajiyo Daycare with the support of my family and community, and a deep belief that the early years of a child's life shape everything that comes after. I take that seriously — but I never forget that kids are kids, and the best part of my day is hearing them laugh.
I'm fully licensed by Washington State, certified in CPR and first aid, and I keep up with my training every single year because the families I serve deserve nothing less.
We take children as young as six weeks old, all the way through their school-age years. Whatever stage your child is in, we have a place for them.
Feeding, naps, tummy time, and a whole lot of holding. We follow your baby's routine and keep you in the loop with everything that happens in their day.
This age is full of discovery. We give them safe spaces to roam, sensory play to dig into, and the freedom to figure things out at their own pace.
Letters, numbers, art, and the social skills they'll need for kindergarten. We build confidence one little win at a time.
A safe, fun place to land before school and after the bell rings. Homework help, snacks, outdoor play, and time to just be a kid.
Our days are structured, but they're not rigid. We have a plan — meals, learning time, naps, outdoor play — but we also pay attention to what each child needs in the moment.
Some days are full of art projects and music. Some days the kids want to dig in the dirt outside for an hour. Both are fine. The schedule is a guide; the kids set the pace.
Every corner of our home is set up with kids in mind — from the reading nook to the backyard. Here's a little tour.
Our kids have been with Hajiyo Daycare and we couldn't be happier. From day one, Muna made us feel like family. The kids come home happy, talking about their day, and excited to go back the next morning. It's clear how much love and care goes into this place — we feel like our children are in the safest hands possible.
We're tucked into a quiet South Tacoma neighborhood, just off 72nd Street. Easy to find, easy to get to, and surrounded by families.
From Pacific Avenue, head east on 72nd Street, then turn onto D Street. We're on the left side, right across from Blueberry Park, in a quiet residential neighborhood that feels like home the moment you pull up.
The best way to know if we're the right fit is to come visit. Walk through the home, meet Muna, ask anything you want. We do tours by appointment so we can give you our full attention.
